Cape Town, South Africa – Stellenbosch University (Maties) Tennis recently announced that legendary South African doubles player Jeff Coetzee would be the new Head Coach of the Maties Tennis High Performance Squad.
Le Roux Conradie, Maties Tennis Sport Manager, said the team and the management are extremely excited with the prospect of having Coetzee on board. “It is not every day that we are fortunate to have somebody with Jeff’s experience and success on board and we look forward to many success stories together. The players can’t wait for Jeff to start and I think we can look forward to a great year for Maties Tennis. Last year we showed already what we can do with mostly first years part of the High Performance Program. This year the team is more experienced.
Maties Tennis also thanked Caylix Sport Management for negotiating the appointment of Coetzee as coach.”

When he still played he was ranked in the top 10 of doubles and also played Davis Cup on 18 occasions for South Africa. “I like new challenges and have a passion for tennis. I will give my best to help Maties Tennis. And with me giving my all, I will expect no less from the players. I want them to give 100% like I am. But also to enjoy it. Then the results will come. My message to the players is to believe in themselves and together on this journey we will make their dreams reality.”
